Plant Manager

Position Summary:
The Plant Manager oversees all daily operations of the plant, ensuring that production schedules are met with optimal safety, quality, and efficiency. This role requires a proactive leader who can foster a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork. responsible for managing resources, developing staff, and identifying and implementing strategic initiatives to achieve business goals.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee the entire production process, collaborate with Production Managers and Leads ensuring that production targets are met on time and within budget.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that align with company objectives and enhance productivity.
- Monitor scorecard indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the plant.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers, production coordinators, technicians, and production staff to achieve production goals.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and accountability.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and development opportunities for team members.
Resource Management:
- Manage plant resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Optimize inventory levels and work closely with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Maximizes production efficiencies by focusing on continuous improvement opportunities through the use of documentation, analysis, reporting, and implementation of corrective action activities.
Quality:
- Monitors and maintains our internal quality system ensuring that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with the quality team to address any issues and drive root cause analysis.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the plant budget, ensuring cost control and financial performance.
- Analyze financial data and operational metrics to drive informed decision-making.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
Strategic Leadership/Planning:
- Participate in the development of strategic plans for the plant and the company (LINDAR is an EOS Company).
- Identify opportunities for growth and innovation in manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
Desired Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Ability to model and live LINDAR core values: Integrity, Initiative, Teamwork and Relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant management role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in thermoforming, rotational molding, or plastics manufacturing.
- Proven track record of successfully managing production operations and leading teams.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and other manufacturing software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to make data-driven decisions.
