Machine Operator – Roll Fed 2nd & 3rd Shift

Summary

This position requires working in a manufacturing environment and must be able to operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner to produce high quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the start up of the thermoforming machines in the beginning of the shift and the proper shut down of machines at the end of the shift
  • Operates in-line thermoforming machines, which includes but is not limited to: loading rolls of material on the machine as needed throughout the shift, spooling labels on the label machine, and packing product when the Packer is on break.
  • Performs all set up and tear down of thermoform tooling at the beginning and end of each shop order as assigned.
  • Manages the removal, grinding, and storage of scrap.
  • Responsible for keeping the scrap percentage at, or below, the standards established by LINDAR Corporation
  • Responsible for the quality of the final product as it is produced. Performs quality inspections with the Packer at various intervals throughout the shift.
  • Stretch wraps finished pallets and transports to the designated staging area.
  • Responsible for reporting any safety incidents.
  • Performs minor troubleshooting and repair of machines and processes as needed.
  • Ability to communicate any and all issues pertaining to production proficiency.
  • Completes required daily paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability to redirect shift personnel in the event of a machine being down or a priority shift.
  • Maintains the proper cycle time on machines.
  • Communicates issues preventing shift plan completion to production Lead, and ensures that the shift plan is followed.
  • Monitors equipment condition and running parameters. Observes and inspects equipment for damage or problems. Communicates potential problems to the Process Technician.
  • Random monitoring of work systems, i.e., quality efficiencies, waste
  • Maintains clean equipment, a clean shop, and a safe work area.
  • Ensures the shift plan is followed.

Desired Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical ability preferred.
  • Ability to operate a forklift required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required.
