Plastics recycling discussed at Global Plastic Summit

3

Recycling was a hot topic at the recent Global Plastic Summit, which took place shortly after California’s ban on plastic bags was signed into law.

Officials at the summit cited data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that shows plastic shopping bags make up only 0.4 percent of waste in the United States and plastics companies are doing their part to encourage recycling and the use of recycled materials in manufacturing.

At LINDAR, we offer recycled plastic materials as a production option, and many of our products, including food containers and paint trays, are recyclable themselves. While recycling is one aspect of sustainability, we have also evaluated how to reduce, use renewable and/or reuse resources in our manufacturing. In fact, LINDAR has reduced waste in our manufacturing processes to one-tenth of what it was three years ago.
