LINDAR continues to accelerate our automation initiative within our facility. Steps have been taken and our automation processes are being redefined to improve and automate workflow, operations, and the manufacturing processes. These are additional steps to bring forming inspiration to our automation initiative.

One of the tools we are utilizing is the five-step DMAIC method for improving existing processes with unknown causes:

  1. Define the problem
  2. Measure—quantify the problem
  3. Analyze—identify the cause of the problem
  4. Improve—implement and verify the solution
  5. Control—maintaining the solution.

We also recently hired Jacob Schill, an automation engineer with a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from North Dakota State University. Prior to joining LINDAR, he was a senior industrial engineer at Seagate for eight years.

As an experienced industrial engineer, Jacob has a proven history of working in the computer hardware industry with skills in statistical modeling, value stream mapping, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), as well as Six Sigma (management techniques intended to improve business processes).

Additional automation is also in the works, so watch our blog for more information!
