Clear packaging reaches canned good market

At LINDAR, we know the importance of packaging food in a way that enhances the look of the product inside. We use crystal clear plastic designed specifically to show off the goods, all while keeping it fresh and protecting it during shipping and display. We believe transparency is the best way to sell food — literally.

It’s normal to walk through the bakery department at a grocery store and be tempted by the delicious-looking cakes, cookies and treats in clear plastic food packaging, but what about the canned good aisle? The food you’re getting in each metal can is a bit of a mystery until you break out the can opener . . . at least for now.

Check out this article on a company trying out clear plastic cans for products like fruits, vegetables, soups and meats, because studies show “consumers equate clear packaging with improved quality.”

We agree, 100 percent. Consumers want to know what they’re buying, and what they’re eating. Transparency is key, whether you’re selling fresh baked or canned goods. Bon appétit!

I have an aluminum food tray w/lid. 6 1/4″ W x 7 3/4″ L x 1 1/2″ D. I bought the tray from Central Market/HEB grocery store in Houston. They are using them in the fresh deli section of the store.

Are these trays (or other sizes) available through your company? We have a large food production/packaging component in our kitchen and I like the look of the dual ovenable trays. The Lindar name is embossed on see through lid.
